Man arrested after allegedly hiding in sidewalk grate, shooting toward street: CPD
A man was arrested after a shooting in the Loop on Memorial Day, according to Chicago police.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man was arrested after a shooting in the Loop on Memorial Day, according to Chicago police.

The incident happened near the underground stop at State and Lake, across the street from ABC7's State Street Studios.

At about 8 a.m. a man entered a restricted area of the CTA Red Line Station, police said.

The suspect then allegedly started shooting upward toward State Street, police said.

Nobody was injured in the shooting, police said.

ABC7 captured as the police and SWAT surrounded a sidewalk grate outside Chick-fil-A.

The suspect was taken into custody. Police said a gun was recovered and charges are pending.

CTA Red line trains were temporarily rerouted. Service has been restored.
