CHICAGO (WLS) -- One person was killed and another critically injured in a South Side crash along South DuSable Lake Shore Drive Tuesday evening, Chicago police said.
An 18-year-old man was driving a black sedan south in the 2900-block of South DuSable Lake Shore Drive just before 5 p.m., when he lost control and hit a tree, police said.
The man was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition, police said.

A female passenger was pronounced dead on the scene.
CPD did not immediately provide any additional information about the victims.
Major Accident detectives are investigating.
Traffic backed up in both directions, as the crash drew a large emergency response just after 5 p.m.
